Hideichiro Nakamura

Hide works for the Climate Strategies and Policies Team as a Portfolio Coordination Specialist to support implementation of the Japan Supplementary Budget projects being implemented in 23 country offices. Previously, Hide joined UNDP Malawi as a JPO Programme Analyst and led the 5-year Disaster Risk Management for Resilience Programme. He brings eight years of work experience with U.S Army as a Fire Fighter/Emergency Medical Technician, 19 months with JICA as a Disaster Preparedness Coordinator in Jamaica, and 19 months as a consultant in the area of climate change with the Inter-American Development Bank Jamaica office.

Hide holds a Master’s degree in International Cooperation and Development. He lives in Okinawa, Japan.
