Eileen Mairena Cunningham

Eileen Mairena Cunningham is a Miskito Indigenous woman of the Waspam Community of the Wangki Awala Kupia Indigenous Territory on the Caribbean Coast of Nicaragua. She is the Director of External Affairs of the Center for the Development and Autonomy of Indigenous Peoples (CADPI) and currently serves as the Indigenous Peoples Focal Point for the United Nations Framework on Climate Change (UNFCCC). She is also the former active observer of civil society from developing countries at the Green Climate Fund, where she provided technical advice for and led the approval of the Indigenous Peoples Policy.
