Catherine provides strategic guidance to UNDP’s offer on Nationally Determined Contributions and supports several countries to put in place policies, strategies and coordination mechanisms that facilitate NDC implementation. Prior to joining UNDP, she worked as a consultant for mainstreaming gender in the energy sector and managed a portfolio of carbon finance projects that enabled private sector actors to monetize the reduction of carbon emissions from their businesses. Early in her career, Catherine was a Monitoring and Evaluation Officer at E+CO, a US-based non-profit organization, where she was responsible for assessing the financial, environmental and social performance of clean energy enterprises throughout West Africa. Catherine holds a Master of Sciences degree from Johns Hopkins University in Washington, DC and a Bachelor's degree in Applied Foreign Languages from the Gaston Berger University in Saint-Louis, Senegal. Catherine is a native Senegalese and is fluent in French, English, and Wolof.
