Over the years, the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues (UNPFII) has evolved into a pivotal platform for addressing the rights and concerns of the world’s Indigenous communities, engaging over 370 million Indigenous Peoples across 70 countries. The twenty-third session, centered around the theme "Enhancing Indigenous Peoples’ right to self-determination in the context of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples: emphasizing the voices of Indigenous youth,” is set to unfold from 15-26 April 2024 at the UN Headquarters in New York.

This gathering is a critical opportunity for stakeholders to engage in dialogue, exchange innovative ideas, and forge stronger networks. It aims to catalyze momentum, provide clarity on the processes of self-determination, and advance ambitious policies and actions that uphold the rights of Indigenous Peoples.
