Clea Paz-Rivera is the global advisor on integrated policies for climate, forests and land. She coordinates the Climate Promise work in the forests and land sector, including support to Indigenous Peoples and local communities. She also leads knowledge management and outreach for the UN-REDD partnership. With 24 years of experience, she previously served as UNDP’s Regional Technical Advisor for LAC, worked with the UN-REDD Programme Secretariat, and led conservation initiatives at Conservation International Bolivia. Earlier in her career, Clea was a botanist at Bolivia’s National Herbarium, focusing on Amazonian tropical forest flora. She holds a Master of Science from the University of Florida and a bachelor’s degree in biology from the Universidad Mayor de San Andrés in La Paz, Bolivia. A native of Bolivia, she is fluent in Spanish and English, as well as intermediate French and Quechua.
