Gelila is currently a Senior Climate Change Policy Specialist at UNDP’s Climate Promise. She has over 15 years of experience at the United Nations, working in senior policy advisory and project management roles in the areas of climate change, biodiversity, and sustainable development, handling portfolios at global, regional and country levels, including the engagement of government leaders by the UN Secretary-General towards negotiating the Paris Agreement.
She holds a Master's in Public Policy and International Affairs from Princeton University in the United States, a Master's in Environmental Studies from York University, and a Bachelor's degree in Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Toronto in Canada.
