Monica Borrero is the Global Programme Manager for the UNDP-Adaptation Fund Climate Innovation Accelerator (UNDP-AFCIA), one of the funding windows anchored under the Adaptation Innovation Marketplace. In this role, she leads efforts supporting 44 organizations to scale up innovative adaptation solutions that advance climate adaptation in local communities, across 33 countries. Previously, she managed the Caribbean Biological Corridor Regional Initiative at UNEP's Latin America and the Caribbean Office, and coordinated regional projects on sustainable procurement, eco-innovation and sustainable value chains with governments and micro, small and medium enterprises. She also worked with local authorities and enterprises in Colombia developing and implementing sustainable production and consumption strategies and plans. Monica holds a Master of Science in International Development and Management from Lund University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Sciences from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid.
