Nina Kantcheva is the Senior Policy Advisor on Indigenous Peoples and Local Community Engagement. Nina guides the strategy to respect and protect the rights of Indigenous Peoples and local communities in climate action, ensure their participation in climate policy, promote Indigenous traditional knowledge and drive resources to nature's guardians through partnerships, including with the private sector and philanthropies. Prior to her work with UNDP, Nina has advised organizations such as Tribal Link Foundation, bridging allies with Indigenous Peoples and the United Nations. Nina also co-founded Tushevs Aerials, an initiative to democratize remote sensing technology for Indigenous peoples and organizations to achieve environmental and humanitarian goals. Originally from Bulgaria, Nina speaks six languages and received her Master’s Degree from New School University in New York.
