Omar has over ten years of experience in development and climate policy design and implementation at the national and sub-national levels. Prior to joining UNDP, he served as the Regional Manager for Francophone Sub-Saharan Africa and MENA regions at the NDC Partnership Support Unit where he provided support to countries in designing multi-sectoral NDC implantation plans, NDC enhancement, technical and financial support mobilization, and coordination. He also served as an International Cooperation Advisor to the Minister of Environment and COP 22 High Level Champion in Morocco, where he contributed to strengthening bilateral and multilateral climate and environmental diplomacy, climate finance, and non-state actors’ engagement on climate action.
