NDC Status 

Azerbaijan submitted its first NDC in January 2017. EU

The country is currently preparing its revised NDC, following a suspension due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The revision of the NDC is supported by the European Union (EU) through the EU4Climate initiative. Funded by the EU and implemented by UNDP, EU4Climate supports six countries in the Eastern Partnership implement the Paris Agreement and improve climate policies and legislation. In Azerbaijan, EU4Climate is also providing support with preparing the NDC Finance Strategy and Investment Plan.

The current NDC commits to reducing their greenhouse gas emissions by 35% by 2030, compared to 1990 levels.
