The PLANT Quarterly Global Assessment tracks how 63 countries are using forests to meet their climate goals under the Paris Agreement. Based on official data shared with the UNFCCC, the report offers a global snapshot of forest-related targets, emissions reporting, REDD+ efforts, and interest in carbon markets.
Produced by UNDP's Climate & Forests team, the report highlights where progress is being made and where support is still needed. As of March 2025, more countries are including forests in their climate plans and reporting under the new transparency rules, though gaps remain in areas like safeguards and data consistency.
