NDC Status

Afghanistan submitted its first NDC in November 2016.

The revision of the NDC is currently underway. The country is focusing on increasing mitigation ambition and on expanding adaptation actions with mitigation co-benefits in key sectors such as energy, water, agriculture, health, rural rehabilitation, and disaster risk reduction.

The current NDC commits to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 13.6% by 2030 compared to business as usual, conditional on external support.
