  • The country also set an unconditional emissions reduction target of 30-40% by 2030 compared to 1990 levels.
  • The revised NDC expands adaptation in the energy, water, agriculture, forestry, and transportation sectors.

With Japan's support, several infrastructure investments are being made to strengthen the resilience of local communities in Tajikistan.
In 2021, twelve countries in the Europe and Central Asia region submitted more ambitious climate pledges with support from Climate Promise.
The new project is worth $2.7 million and will help Tajikistan develop an effective National Adaptation Plan to increase climate resilience.
