Botswana submitted its first NDC in November 2016.
The revision of the NDC is currently underway. The national intention is to expand the NDC to include 3 new sectors, enhance monitoring and tracking, and align to new developed strategies, policies and plans such as the Vision 2036.
The Climate Promise support will contribute to the re-alignment of the NDC to existing and new climate-related policies and frameworks and the Sustainable Development Goals. This support will also allow expansion of the existing NDC to include other sectors where data is available, namely the Land use, Land use Change and Forestry, Biodiversity and Ecosystems and Industry and Manufacturing.
