NDC Status 

Eswatini submitted its revised NDC in October 2021.

Key highlights from the NDC 
  • Eswatini adopted its first economy-wide emissions reduction target of 5% by 2030, or 14% with financial support. 
  • The NDC provides measures for mitigation and adaptation across sectors, which include increasing the share of renewable energy (solar, wind, biomass and hydro) to 50% in the electricity mix by 2030 relative to 2010, and landscape restoration actions, including planting 10 million trees. 
  • The revised NDC also integrated youth engagement, gender equality and disaster risk reduction.
