NDC Status

North Macedonia submitted its revised NDC in April 2021.

Key highlights from the NDC
  • North Macedonia has increased its ambition in the revised NDC by adopting a net greenhouse gas emissions reduction target of 82% by 2030 compared to 1990 levels.
  • The enhanced NDC sets economy-wide targets with 63 policies and measures in all sectors and covers emissions from all greenhouse gasses. It was developed through extensive consultations with all key stakeholders and offers the country a comprehensive low-carbon and green recovery pathway.
  • An adaptation component was not included in the revised NDC but will be included in subsequent submissions, once the relevant national strategic and planning documents are prepared and adopted.
