NDC Status

Chad submitted its revised NDC in October 2021.

Key highlights from the NDC
  • While the overall emissions reductions targets of Chad’s revised NDC were less ambitious than the first NDC, the country has clearly defined mitigation measures by sector, especially for energy.
  • In close alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals and a consideration of gender, the NDC provides ranked actions for adaptation in the most vulnerable sectors, increasing in scope and coverage, and providing more clarity on expected impacts.
Adaptation and resilience areas in the NDC
  • Agriculture
  • Forestry
  • Water
  • Energy
  • Education
  • Infrastructure
  • Disaster Risk Management
