Mateo Salomon leads UNDP's climate change mitigation programming, overseeing a diverse portfolio valued at over half a billion USD. His work spans critical areas including energy access, clean energy transition, energy efficiency, and sustainable transport.

With over 15 years of experience, Mateo has supported both private and public sector actors in accessing, blending, and sequencing various sources of climate finance and financial instruments. Before rejoining UNDP, he served as a Principal Executive in the Division of Sustainability, Inclusion, and Climate Change at CAF - Development Bank of Latin America. He also held the role of Trust Fund Appointee at the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), where he provided policy, technical, and operational support to IDB's climate finance initiatives. Mateo holds a master’s degree in international relations from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva, Switzerland.
