Sameera has extensive experience in UN climate negotiations having been part of civil society, government and UN delegations. She has been following the Paris Agreement negotiations process closely since its inception. She is currently global focal point on loss and damage, human rights and climate justice and has followed and presented on loss and damage in climate negotiations and beyond for over 10 years. She is also UNDP’s focal point for the interim secretariat for the Fund for Responding to Loss and Damage. Sameera is particularly passionate about social inclusion and ensuring that the most vulnerable and marginalized groups are supported and empowered to lead in climate action.
