Elspeth Halverson serves as Programme and Partnership Management Advisor, providing programme and partnership management for UNDP’s Climate and Forests portfolio. She also represents UNDP in the management of the UN-REDD Programme. Elspeth has over fifteen years of experience launching and implementing innovative partnerships to conserve biodiversity, protect forests and combat climate change. She has a successful track record of growing partnerships with civil society, motivated by the strong belief that Indigenous Peoples and local communities are critical actors in an effective international response to climate change. She studied at the University of British Columbia in Canada, and at the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom. When she is not working, Elspeth enjoys exploring the mountains with her family on foot or on skis.
