Mary Ann Manja Bayang is the Climate Change, Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities Specialist. A Kankanaey-Igorot Indigenous lawyer from Sagada, Mountain Province, Philippines, she is a strong advocate and leader driving global impact on respecting and protecting Indigenous Peoples’ rights and environmental justice. Her expertise, honed through her experience as an Indigenous person and her work with communities, the United Nations and other international organizations, strengthens UNDP's commitment to equitable and sustainable development. Manja holds a Juris Doctor Degree from St. Louis University and a Master’s Degree in Human Rights and Democratisation from the University of Sydney.
