The Republic of Congo submitted its revised NDC in August 2021.

Key highlights from the NDC 
  • The updated NDC introduced an unconditional pledge to cut greenhouse gas emissions by 17.09% relative to business-as-usual by 2025, with a reduction of 39.88% conditional on support.
  • The Republic of Congo's higher ambition translates into more sectors being covered, all greenhouse gases now included, and priority adaptation activities identified. 
  • The role of women and youth in climate action is highlighted in the NDC, which also aligns with the country’s aspirations under the Sustainable Development Goals.
